Elissa & Jonathan

Elissa & Jonathan

Winter romance

THE STORY
Elissa & Jonathan’s ‘8th of the 8th’ themed love story is a good one. They became official on the 8th of the 8th, 2014. Engaged on the 8th of the 8th, 2019. And married on the 8th of the 8th, 2021. Inspired by the number eight and its connection to the idea of infinity, Elissa & Jonathan couldn’t wait to get “even closer to forever”. We’re not crying, you are.

THE STAGE
Stones of the Yarra Valley.

THE DRAMA
If you’ve stepped foot inside the Stones Chapel, you’ll understand why it gets an honourable mention (#ifyouknowyouknow). A rough-rendered Chapel nestled under century-old oak trees. Soaring ceilings, stained-glass windows and hand-crafted timber pews. Enter masses of toffee roses, tulips and hydrangea and you’ve got yourself some drama.

THE MAGIC
For Elissa & Jonathan, the intimacy of an afternoon wedding flaunting winter’s best blooms just made sense. The ever-changing, tonal tablescapes consisted of unstructured florals and no two vessels were the same. Lighter touches of Queen Anne’s lace, bunny tails and reflexed tulips balanced out the heavier elements.

THE FEAST
With floor-to-ceiling views of the vineyards, guests enjoyed a locally sourced and seasonally fresh menu. Duck breast with smoked honey and soubise. Wild barramundi with salsa bianca and white anchovies. Dobson potatoes, panzanella salad and caramelised onion tarts. Although The Barn’s produce speaks for itself, we had to tell you about it anyway.
