Rav & Billy

Rav & Billy

The future looks bright

THE STORY
Once upon a time, after all the I Do’s… there was a party to end all parties. From the moment we engaged with Rav & Billy we knew this was going to be a show stopper. They left everything to us, trusting entirely in our daring and outlandish ideas. The result? Endless moments of ‘WOW’ and a once in a pink moon night with memories to last a lifetime.

THE STAGE
Ceremony - St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Yarraville.
Reception - The Glasshouse, Olympic Park Oval.

THE NICETIES
Neighbours, locals and passersby of all kinds stopped to marvel at the breathtaking floral installation wrapped around the pillars of the St. Nicholas Church. An abundance of white gypsophila clouds enveloped the front of the church, cascading down onto the front steps to reveal a growing garden of white roses and phalaenopsis orchids. You know it’s pretty impressive when the priest asks “can we keep it?”.

THE MAGIC
A fearless fuschia pink carpet led guests all the way to the top of the Glasshouse stairs. Waiting bravely for them - a Met Gala inspired photo moment. Lilac toned hydrangea, fern and delphinium en masse against the hot pink stairs made it very clear - this was no ordinary wedding.

THE DRAMA
An impossible task, to choose just one element of Rav & Billy’s day worthy of being ‘THE DRAMA’. So much drama - at every turn, in every corner, on every table. But if we have to choose - the centrepiece designs. Sculptural installations of exotic orchids, dahlias, water lilies and roses suspended on linear neon tubes. Clusters of anthuriums held elongated neons on rectangle tables. Extra tall tapered candles in hot pink and vibrant lilac sat amongst masses of hydrangea and orchids. Why have one centrepiece design when you can have three?

THE SPOTLIGHT
The bridal table of all bridal tables. The most loveheart reactions we’ve received on a single Instagram story - and rightly so. An all-over mirrored bridal table in front of upright smoked mirror pillars. Neon beams angling from masses (and we mean masses) of florals. The combination of fuschia, lilac and pops of cherry red was show-stopping and spine-tingling.

THE PARTY
As guests initially entered the dining room, a golden light and subtle haze washed over the space.
At 9:30pm the room took on shades of pink, lilac and blue - setting the scene for the party to come.
And what do you get when you mix spicy margaritas with every reason to celebrate? One. Epic. Party.
And a lot of broken plates…
