Raffi World - The Party Never Stops

THE STORY
Every Style Co. event starts with a reason to celebrate. Raffi World was a celebration of life, love and of course, Raffi - but even more than that, it was one epic act of gratitude.

In 2020 Nicky & Matt were faced with the devastating news that their spectacular little man was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Three years and a lot of hospital visits later, Raffi is the same spectacular little man, and cancer-free - thanks to the family, friends, doctors, nurses and support staff that surrounded him and wrapped him up in constant love every day since.

In celebration, appreciation and adoration of these people, it was our job to create something totally unforgettable. A world of endless opportunities for exploration and play. Another dimension where the rules were made to be broken and anything is possible.

Cue: Raffi World. The only world we want to live in.

THE STAGE
Half Acre, South Melbourne.

THE MERCH
Graphics were a major component of this design. Every graphic element was completely custom and played a part in the overall experience of Raffi World. The Y2K-inspired fusion of childlike illustrations, 3D shapes and grungy details very coolly complimented the holographic features and vibrant colour combinations throughout the design. Guests were introduced to these graphics and the epic-ness that was Raffi World from the moment they received their invitation. Custom invitation boxes with holographic foil detailing arrived on doorsteps, overflowing with branded Raffi World t-shirts, badges, stickers and lanyards. Throughout the event, no element (or person, for that matter) was left un-branded. From crew lanyards and t-shirts to water bottles, signage, lolly bags and temporary tattoos - it was a wild world of all things Raffi.

THE MAGIC
A vibrant lime green carpet - otherwise known as Raffi Road - paved the way through a magic world where freedom and creativity were untamed. Coloured neon tubes illuminated truss signage totems covered in Raffi World graphics and typography, directing guests to every experience on offer. And to encourage maximum fun - Mario, Luigi and a few more of their friends engaged with guests as they wandered through the sea of bubbles, balloon animals and basketballs. The magic of playing, drawing, bouncing, dancing and exploring without limits was electrifying. It was everything we envisioned when designing and producing Raffi World, and then a little bit more.

THE PARTY
The dance floor is the heart of every party, and apparently it’s no different when you’re four. A custom patterned Raffi World dance floor was home to lots of little dancing feet, putting our moves to shame with the help of DJ Cassidy La Créme. A silver mirrored DJ booth sat atop a black stage framed with truss, neon beams and metallic balloons. Behind it, a custom Raffi World neon floated amongst a fringed lime green and metallic backdrop. Jump World - an all-white jumping castle with a lime green balloon installation cascading down one side of the entrance - was an ephemeral paradise of bouncing and squealing. Next to it, splashes and scribbles of colour quickly covered a four metre custom colouring wall. From painting to putting, Neon Golf was a glowing adventure enveloped in clusters of custom metallic Raffi World balloons and neon beams. The ball pit was the place to be and Arcade World was the best kind of mayhem - overflowing with excited shrieks, flashing lights and slam dunks.

THE FEAST
Three havana food stations cladded with Raffi World graphics in alternating colourways made up the Food Hall. Remember when we said that no element went un-branded? We meant it. Branded Raffi World cups, napkins, water bottles and tissue paper gave the ultimate custom feel, and a roving Food & Desire menu - carefully curated for both little humans and big humans - fueled all of the fun.

THE DRAMA
If you couldn’t already tell, we love a dramatic photo moment. Giant Raffi World letters in lime green against a backdrop of stacked metallic silver balloons acted as an iconic entrance and photo moment. A 180 degree slow-mo photo booth captured Raffi’s VIPs amongst all the madness, and the unforgettable Raffi World typography will forever live in camera rolls and memories.
