Like any creative business, we do what we do in pursuit of landing the dream client with the dream brief. And when the stars align and that moment becomes a reality, well, pinch us. Hard. Truth be told, we haven’t stopped pinching ourselves since Victoria and Joseph stepped into our studio. Much like their own love story, we felt an instant connection and knew we were onto something very special.

As event designers, we believe creative freedom is an opportunity to distill the couple’s story, their aesthetic, and their wedding day dreams into a design that is beyond what they could have ever imagined.

Victoria and Joseph’s design was custom created purely for themselves and their guests. Every single detail (of which there are countless) was born from a fragment of their story, then carefully crafted and brought to life by our talented design team, until we reached the ultimate goal: innovation and perfection. Achieving this goal requires incredibly trusting clients (tick), a spectacular private property (tick), remarkable suppliers who love to be challenged (tick) and an extraordinary team who define the meaning of passion (tick tick tick). When combined the result is simply extraordinary, not only to look at but most importantly, to feel.

Victoria’s father so eloquently stated in his speech that “family is not an important thing, it’s the only thing”. To us, this encapsulated where this design began… family. Victoria and Joseph both come from an Italian heritage traditionally known for its bold, passionate and unapologetic love for family and food, and from the very beginning, our design team knew this was something we could celebrate in a BIG way! Inspirational images touching on Italian history, architecture, fashion and art plastered our studio walls as we began to live and breathe this concept for many months to come. We became intoxicated with the beauty and detail that was Italian architecture. From the curves in the archways, to the repetition in columns, the romance in statues and the not-so-understated combinations of marble, terrazzo and stone.

Thankfully, Victoria and Joseph didn’t want to play by the rules — and neither did we. We distorted the lines, intensified the contrast, fused tradition with contemporary design, chose sexy and bold over pretty and nice, and blurred the boundaries between reality and dreams. We once heard that life without colour is like life without love, and we couldn’t agree more. So, we formed a colour and texture palette that went beyond initial impact. It encapsulated Victoria and Joseph as a couple while evoking emotion and memories. Not to mention it was so unbelievably crazy, bold and fun!

Detail to us is everything. It’s those tiny, often overlooked elements that can make for the most memorable moments. The invitations were one of these moments. From the bold and daring colour palette, the unique typography and graphic selections (hey there, Mr. Cherub), to the scented rose petals that cascaded out of each and every one — all tied together with luxurious Victoria & Joseph custom ribbon. No detail was spared. A significant contemporary wave trimmed each envelope… little did we know this wave was about to become a catalyst for so many ideas to come! From the columns and arches, to the continuous curves throughout the lounge and feature bar, right down to the ripple in the custom chandeliers, this signature wave to us, will forever be iconic to Victoria and Joseph’s design.

Amongst the waves and curves were the flowers. So spectacular in their own right. It was no fluke that they blended and popped, all at once. Each and every rose was tested and matched against our chosen colours and textures to make sure it was the perfect fit. They were sexy and bold, yet so romantic and soft, playing their part so perfectly in an already stunning scene.

When it comes to custom designing in a space like this, scale, proportion and perfection is key. Our design team worked tirelessly in pursuit of balance and harmony across contrast, space, alignment and repetition. This was no easy feat with countless site inspections, design meetings, sampling finishes, production meetings with suppliers, sourcing and more sampling finishes. It was a long and intense process, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

The deepest of thanks to our incredible suppliers; each and every one hand-selected for their skill and commitment to our vision. Also, to our incredible team, the way you immersed yourselves into every single task is why you’re highly regarded as the best in the industry.

And finally, to Victoria and Joseph, it was an honour to work with you and your gorgeous families to bring your big day to life. Having fun together was our intention, the beautiful friendship that blossomed along the journey was our privilege. One that we cherish along with the lifelong memories made that magical weekend. We look forward to celebrating all of life’s milestones with you.
