On the surface we design beautiful events for our clients with simplicity and ease. But it’s really about meeting real people and falling in love with their story, their journey and the vision of their dream day. When we met Shivani and Gene we fell……HARD.

This gorgeous couple were intoxicatingly luminous and meetings very easily turned into hours of positivity-charged musings on life, love and work.

Newport Substation was the perfect venue for our Modern Bollywood meets Industrial New York look. A bright colour palette of pink, orange, yellow and green screamed of partaaaayyy!!!! Exposed wooden tables with hairpin legs against a sea of white bentwood chairs allowed the stunning florals and custom napkins to pop.

The floating edison pendant lights clustered above the bridal table paid tribute to Newport Substations industrial origins whilst the jagged bud lighting added a bit of a romantic twist to the dance floor.

And then there was the cake. An exquisite creation by the talented folk at Regnier Cakes. Inspired by Shivani’s love {read addiction} of Boost Chocolate Bars. The perfect finish to a perfect night.

We design so many splendid things here at Style Co HQ and quite often our best work comes from couples who approach us with that oh-lordy-what-have-we-got-ourselves-into look.

To be honest that look brings on tingles of joy and waves of validation for what we believe in : creating gorgeously unique weddings {read parties} that feel like our couples.

After our very first appointment with Rach + Phil we knew they felt at ease, excited and understood. Our brief was to transform Prahran Mission House into an industrial/glam bar with a fun/cheeky tone that would instantly put guests at ease and get them on the dance floor. The end result – Ta Da!

After Nicole and Laz’s first ever meeting the entire team let out a studio-wide exhale.

This stylish couple were persuasive without being pushy, honest without being offensive, inspiring without being artificial – the perfect fit for us and our creative rhythm. We all knew right from the beginning that this was going to be one of those projects that left a happy dent in the universe and we were excited!

The brief was to create something exquisitely beautiful whilst embracing a modern elegance using a neutral palette with hints of gold at Carousel, Albert Park.

Lighting was particularly important to the couple, so we decided to make this a focal point. A large cluster of metallic geometric pendants projected intricate shadows over the dance floor and custom bar all night long.

The inspiration for the guest tables was to create something softer and romantic, juxtaposed with the edginess of the lighting installation. The tables alternated between hundreds of pillar candles scattered at varying heights and stunning luscious floral runners featuring imported peonies ( yeps in July – who does that!) and colombian roses.

It was no surprise that Nicole & Laz’s day was so memorable; their priority had always been to create something welcoming, comfortable and fun for each and every hand picked guest. The entire room was a reflector-beam of their amazing friendship and bona fide love. It was a privilege, a delight and the essence of The Style Co. to be a part of their day

*** FAST FORWARD ***

Sarah took a well-earned breather over our Winter break and headed over to Portugal… on the way she met up with Nic + Laz while on their honeymoon in London.
What was to be a ‘catch up’ became a few days of shopping and of course, testing local eats… yes folks, Sarah shared their honeymoon with them!

So first came romance.. and now friendship. Thanks Nic + Laz x
