‘If luxury is defined by rarity, what is more luxurious than a creature so rare that it exists only in legend’ – Louis Li Jackalope Hotel Owner

This quote from Jackalope hotel owner Louis Li, in regards to the mythical Jackalope creature was the inspiration behind Sam and Chris’ moody, surreal and contemporary design.

Sam and Chris were chic, modern and all class. They wanted something truely extraordinary and memorable for their guests.

Our design concept was based on the creation of the ‘Jackalope Forrest- wild, untamed, sexy and glamourous’

Looking out onto the Jackalope vineyards a black carpet lined with foliage gardens lead to an epic ceremony installation of wild branches and foliage bursting out of a modern black base. Deep red and burgundy toned florals dripped throughout. Guests sat amongst magnolia trees creating an intimate forrest feel.

Inside Doot Doot Doot, tables were adorned with florals and trailing greenery reflected onto modern black mirror shards. Black taper candles dripped throughout the night adding to that moody yet elegant feel. Gold hand calligraphy placecards were placed with a single stem rose for each guest, creating a unique personalised touch.

Guests dined amongst the Jackalope Forrest installation, exploding with wild foliage, surreal moody style branches, black roses, deep red toned florals and gold details! The night was luxurious, moody, sexy and surreal perfectly designed for a Jackalope or two!

Christina and Paul’s love story was as classic as they come; dinner dates, love notes, surprise flowers and all that old school chivalry that needs to make a comeback (yes please!)

So naturally the direction of the design was about a classic look, with clean lines, art deco touches and a tonne of romance. Melbourne Town Hall was the perfect backdrop for the ceremony with its stunning city views, marble floors and ornate stone columns. The stonework was the hero so the floral backdrop was wild and unruly, as if it had always grown there. Guests took in the scenery, champagne in hand, eagerly awaiting Christina’s arrival. When she did arrive, tissues were required – stat. The glowing lovebirds beamed with happiness throughout the service, it was such an honour to watch.

Once the nuptials were done it was time to up the ante and shift into party mode. Alto was the venue of choice, oozing rooftop vibes as guests sipped on pre dinner cocktails. An abundance of candle light flickered behind the sheer grey drape that divided the dining space from the pre dinner drinks area. Once Christina and Paul were welcomed into the venue, the drapes were drawn and guests were invited to take a seat. The look and feel for the table design was polished yet warm and inviting. Black taper candles ran the length of the table, weaving through the gorgeous floral arrangements made of blush, cream, beige roses with pops of black and metallic.

A very big thank you to Christina and Paul for trusting us with their big day. We felt honoured to share this journey with you and your gorgeous families and can’t wait for the arrival of Baby Rod later in the year.

We can’t thank you enough for all of your work leading up to our wedding and the day itself. Private Property events are our favourite because we know we’re going to be up for a good challenge!

After we met our gorgeous couple, Dani and Chris at their stunning family property, we were in love! With them AND the blank canvas we were going to be playing in.

With every event, we like to do the unexpected. With a property like this, we’re usually asked to bring the charm of the area and the outdoors into the design. So when Dani and Chris said yes to the look and feel being all about them edgy, glamorous city vibes, we fell even harder in love.

Buses dropped guests off close to the ceremony location where they were greeted with Moet Piccolo’s. The short and sweet service took place in front of an over overflowing garden install made of roses and rich foliage.

For Pre Dinner Drinks guests were welcomed to grab a drink from the custom bar which featured raised black mirrored letters, backlit and adorned with dripping florals. Plush velvet sofas created lounge pods, allowing guests to chill and relax both during pre dinner drinks and during the night’s festivities.

When it was time to sit down and feast, guests were escorted to their seats at the stunning marble dining tables. Black for the centre bridal table and white for the outer guest tables. Instead of an overhead installation above the bridal table, we opted for floral arrangements at varied heights, each arrangement sculpted slightly differently from the next.

A night of revelry requires just the right DJ backdrop, and so in line with all the other details, the DJ area featured a black marble booth, dripping florals and a decal quote with a hip hop spin (perfectly Dani and Chris).

As the guests hit the D-floor and the stars came out, our 3metre “There’s no stopping us right now” neon lit the field nearby and became the centrepiece that set the tone for the epic party until the wee hours.

We’re big fans of a long lunch, so when the sweetest couple, Lily and Kirit, asked us to be a part of their lunch wedding we were so in!

Stones of the Yarra Valley, was the perfect backdrop for the sophisticated affair.

The serenity of the chapel was beautiful juxtaposed to the wild tall ceremony installation made of seasonal foliage and pops of roses in antique tones.

Over in the Barn, we used the stunning wooden beams to hang garlands of mixed foliage with peach and blush florals, creating a canopy above the centre table.

The abundance of greenery was brought to life against the white linen tablecloths and white bentwood chairs. The tablescape design was complete with the gorgeous alternating floral heavy centrepieces, emerald marble trays, blush napkins and gold feature cutlery.

Outside guests were invited to take a photo against the custom photo booth backdrop or bask in the sunshine on the comfy rattan couches, soaking up the views of the Yarra Valley.

A big thank you to Lily and Kirit for being dream clients. It was an honour to bring your big day to life and help you create life long memories.

The timeless love story of our achingly cool couple Zoë and Emilio was perfectly summed up when we asked them how they met…. ‘ Zoë worked at the pub. Emilio drank at the pub.’ We thought that response, just like them, was brilliant and needed to be up in lights – pronto!

Cut to their Big Day and we were bringing all the sexy, moody vibes necessary for a night of revelry. Turn up the audio on this blog post peeps, it’s all about the sensory experience, starting with the eerie music box tune playing in the elevator up to South Melbourne’s prized rooftop venue, Luminare.

Overgrown greenery and red rose bushes gathered wildly above the dance floor, where decrepit chandeliers tilted and flickered. The table design oozed romance with decadent gold leafing on vases that were overflowing with red roses and discarded petals strewn over the tables.

And then there was that deck, home of the feature bar and tropically adorned lounge pods that were the perfect haven away from the busy dance floor. Guests grabbed a cocktail, melted into the comfy velvet sofas and shared the city views with Mr. Flamingo and Co.

Behind every Style Co Event Design our number one focus has always been making people feel something… after all, this is the greatest memory you will take away from any celebration.

Wedding anniversaries are a time to celebrate and relive every delicious memory from the sweetest day of your life. 365 days have passed since we delivered the most epic of weddings, so tonight we’re reminiscing and celebrating all the awesomeness that was #MRANDMRSSWAGGYVEE.

The gorgeous Nicky and Matty come to us shortly after becoming engaged and it was very evident from day dot that this couple were very much in sync and very much in love. The perfect combination to ensure that we as a creative team and wedding planners could spend the next year crafting their big day to absolute perfection.

Their vision was very clear, both having proud Italian upbringings meant that this celebration was about Family with a capital F! It was about bringing together their nearest and dearest (yes all 300+ hand picked guests) to share a day full of love, laugher and of course, food. It was about welcoming every single guest on arrival and reminding them all night long of the special place they held in Nicky and Matty’s hearts. And finally, it was without a doubt, about the P-A-R-T-Y in true Swaggy Vee fashion!!

The newly purchased Verrocchi home was the perfect location for said occasion. The biggest and first of many family celebrations to be hosted here. Massive renovations works had commenced almost a year prior to the big day. An epic two week bump in saw us working with an ever changing property as contractors raced against the clock to get everything done in time. Think fifty odd tradesmen from all professions – landscapers, tilers, carpenters, riggers and painters, working in unison day and night to bring this event to life.

The final touches took place an hour before guests arrived. Leaving us with just enough time to step back and soak in the greatest transformation that we had ever been a part of. Guests quickly started to arrive and the buzz in the air was contagious. With every single step that guests took on the custom black carpet that ran the length of the property, we could feel their excitement and anticipation for the night ahead.

Every inch of the stunning 5500 square metres of the Verrocchi home was used. The modern yet classic ceremony seated 200 guests and took place in one of the gardens adjacent to the home. Nicky and Matty were married under a contemporary white steel arch with white florals and greenery growing throughout.
Guests then moved down to the pre dinner drinks bar but not before taking a photo on the terrace where we created a custom ‘MR & MRS VERROCCHI’ backdrop.

The look in the pre dinner drinks bar was a shift from the ceremony space. The custom Swaggy Vee bar had a dramatic colour palette of blush, burgundy and ruby tones, intentionally evoking a sexier, glamorous mood. Guests were then welcomed into the ‘Dining Hall’. A custom built facade was the entrance feature transforming the marquee into an extravagant modern dining experience. Over 40 square metres of dripping wisteria and foliage were suspended over the central tables which were flooded with white pillar candles below. Luxe white florals covered the outer tables creating an effortless balanced design. Personalised menus with gold foil mesh detailing sat along side soft grey crockery and gold cutlery. A diamond steel grid was suspended behind the bridal table filled with white florals and foliage framing the entire bridal party.

After dinner and speeches were completed guests were then welcomed onto the dance floor to continue festivities well into the wee hours. The stage design had to set the tone for the party ahead so naturally we knew it had to be impressive. For us that meant two layered triangular custom walls standing 12m wide and over 3m high. The front layer consisted of a diamond steel grid consistent with the bridal backdrop with wild burgundy foliage growing through out. Behind stood a custom light wall of over 200 exposed light bulbs pulsating to beat of the music.

The remaining hours of the night are a goldmine of memories with images of everyone, young and old gathering on that dance floor with their foam ‘Just Married’ hands in tow, letting loose and loving life. If you look closely you’ll see we might of got caught up in some of the foam hand shenanigans ourselves!

The biggest of thank you’s to the greatest partners in crime themselves, Nicky and Matty for trusting us completely. To our amazing team for working around the clock, for pushing the boundaries, for the love, sweat and tears that went into this wedding and for continuously digging deep and smiling through every challenge. Tash + Juzzy, like most Melbournians are lovers of good food, fashion, design, travel, the odd drink (or a few) and an epic party! And boy do they know how to party!!

So when they chose us to design their modern day black tie wedding, we knew it had to be pretty schmick!

We took it from the top and started with the invitation to give the guests a taste of what was to come.. the tri-fold invitation featured a custom designed ‘flowerbomb’ print, bold typography, a gold foil shard to house a map and more deets then finished off with a luxe velvet ribbon (that they packaged into little black box)… talk about a teaser! It was pretty spesh to say the least.

The soft floral and flowy foliage were the feature in the ceremony, framing Tash and Juzzy while they wed in the gorgeous Treasury gardens. For the reception at Aerial South Wharf, guests were treated to deeper floral tones with a healthy dash of black and gold metallic shards and monotone ‘flowerbomb’ prints.

From the entrance staircase, to the bar features, photo backdrop, signage, pop-up gardens, table arrangements, cake, linen, crockery, cutlery and stationery… every detail was covered. All the guests had to do was enjoy the feast by the fine folk at Food + Desire, drink to their hearts content and party hard into the night with the newlyweds.
