Ella’s Batmi Aerial, South Wharf
From the second we met Ella and her gorgeous family we knew we were going to be working on something pretty special. The Style Co. HQ was buzzing from the full creative freedom we were given to event manage & design a party that was all about having fun with family and friends.
Our approach to event design is always focused on the guest experience and connecting this with the person or reason everyone is gathered to celebrate. So we immersed ourselves in Ella’s world and fleshed out as much as we could about this vivacious teenager: Basketball, Rnb, Nutella and Basketball!
Seeing as Ella is a big (read massive) NBA fan we channelled all things basketball which lead us to this New York street feel with food trucks, edgy graphics and retro colour pops.
The entrance feature was a big statement piece that screamed ‘welcome to an epic night’. Made of 27 decals which were individually applied to each step and then adorned with large clouds of white balloons. The photo booth backdrop was a fun play on teen-talk with oversized ‘Yeah Yeah’ 3d letters framing a basketball court decal. We continued the basketball tribute with a feature bar with it’s own chain link fencing and basketball hoops attached to acrylic backboards.
Entertainment was such a big part of the night so it was only fitting that the 7 piece jazz band, dj and beatboxer had an impressive stage with custom ‘ELLA’ neon lights glowing on them all night long.
The finishing touch was dressing the staff so we swapped white shirts/black pants for street wear complete with custom ‘Ella’ t-shirts, visors and sweatbands.
The biggest of thank you’s must go to Ella and her family who trusted us with their vision. We really are incredibly lucky to do what we love and create relationships with some amazing clients along the way!
J + G’s Bat mitzvah
It’s true we can throw a wedding like nobody’s business and the same applies for Bat Mitzvah’s! When gorgeous twin sisters, Jennifer and Georgia, came to us to style their special celebration the whole studio squealed with excitement. Carousel was the perfect venue for us to unleash the girl gang vibes we were channeling.
On arrival guests were welcomed with novelty balloons, disco balls and floor star quotes (cos it’s all about them #instagramablemoments). A few more steps into the venue and the focus was all about the bites, beats and beverages. J and G’s custom Shake Shack was the go-to-place serving up delicious thick shakes, spiders and slushies all night long. The dance floor with it’s humongous holographic decal and metallic fringe roof install was kept busy by Dj Stu, who’s booth was the epicentre of the food hub. This food hub screamed F-U-N with graphic cladding, neons and more coloured fringing.
The young and even not-so-young guests were kept busy with a gif booth, cool claw machines, a glitter station and even a surprise illusionist show. On departure the lucky guests received one last treat.. showbags!!
This truly was an epic celebration hosted by a legendary family who we’re secretly hoping will adopt us someday. Mazel Tov Jen and Georgia!!!
Thomas’ Bar mitzvah
It’s hardly work when we get to hang with a beautiful family and our awesome friends at Food & Desire in creating a fun coming of age celebration!
Thomas’ event design was focussed around a welcoming café feel with an open kitchen that combined industrial elements, modern textures and pops of colour.
The feature 10.8 metre long custom bar cladded in a subway tiles print perfectly framed the epicness that the chefs were creating in the kitchen. A feature bar isn’t complete without some cool branding so we knew the hero had to be the yellow acrylic ‘THOMAS’ sign suspended above the open kitchen and nestled amongst the fresh greenery. This branding continued all the way through to the menus, staff uniforms and other signage.
The tablescape design had to allow enough room for the abundance of Italian inspired share platters so we went with two looks to break up the space. The first design saw crisp natural white linen with fresh seasonal herbs as the centrepiece pop against modern black loft chairs. Then the second design used exposed black timber tables as the base for our custom Olive and fresh greenery trees.
The transformation of this once tennis court to achingly cool café was one of our favourites yet! A massive high five to the team who helped flipped this lunch soiree into a nighttime extravaganza for the kids… @Dann Events @SolutionEntertainment
