Steph + Dylan Rupert on Rupert
Winter weddings are our favourite, especially when the gorgeous humans exchanging vows happen to be our dear friends. Steph and Dylan’s big day oozed all things moody and Melbourne with the achingly cool bar Rupert on Rupert making the perfect backdrop for this intimate celebration.
There was no denying that Steph, who happens to be the PR and Marketing Manager for One Day Bridal, was going to have a stunning dress (or should we say dresses) so we knew the design for the ceremony had to be romantic and minimalist. Cascading pillar candles scattered on terrazzo top plinths didn’t detract from ‘the dress’.
Festivities continued in the dining room where we designed our tablescapes around Rupert’s feasting style menu. Stone tiles became elevated platters and the structured floral arrangements of antheriums, roses, orchids and dark foliage in brass vessels nestled in with black grapes and dinner candles added height and softness.
It was such a privilege to work with Steph and Dylan, their easy going nature and the love we felt on that day is a constant reminder of why we do what we do.

Zoë + Emilio Luminare, South Melbourne
The timeless love story of our achingly cool couple Zoë and Emilio was perfectly summed up when we asked them how they met…. ‘ Zoë worked at the pub. Emilio drank at the pub.’ We thought that response, just like them, was brilliant and needed to be up in lights – pronto!
Cut to their Big Day and we were bringing all the sexy, moody vibes necessary for a night of revelry. Turn up the audio on this blog post peeps, it’s all about the sensory experience, starting with the eerie music box tune playing in the elevator up to South Melbourne’s prized rooftop venue, Luminare.
Overgrown greenery and red rose bushes gathered wildly above the dance floor, where decrepit chandeliers tilted and flickered. The table design oozed romance with decadent gold leafing on vases that were overflowing with red roses and discarded petals strewn over the tables.
And then there was that deck, home of the feature bar and tropically adorned lounge pods that were the perfect haven away from the busy dance floor. Guests grabbed a cocktail, melted into the comfy velvet sofas and shared the city views with Mr. Flamingo and Co.
